Monday morning, I was getting dressed. My dog knows the signs, and he sat on my bed, ears perked up. I could almost hear him saying, “Hey, Mama, you gettin’ dressed? Wanna go on a walk, Mama?”

Spoiler alert: we went on a walk.

Ollie is our family’s third consecutive miniature schnauzer. When Hammer, our previous dog, passed away, we thought we’d be a dog-free family.

Ten weeks later, we were looking at the website for Schnauzer Rescue Texas, searching for our next dog. They connected us with Ollie, and he’s the best dog we’ve ever had!
