Hey ,

Our first spotlight from Kelly Mahler drops today and I couldn't be more excited to start this journey with you. Before we jump in I wanted to take a second to remind you that spotlight snippets are intentionally short and dripped out over a few weeks for several reasons.

The biggest reason is that we are all BUSY!!

And although we are all learning junkies, the reality of life and pressing priorities means we don't always get to the things we want to do - those important, but not urgent things - those things that move the needle and keep us energised and excited, but don't pay the bills or satisfy the regulations.

So spotlight snippets are meant to drip-feed your brain and introduce you to just one or two things each week to ponder, consider, reinforce, remember, discover or integrate into your existing knowledge base and practice.

To slowly immerse your brain in the concepts and prime it for seeing things a little differently each time you step into the clinic - or reflect on a session or an interaction.

Today's snippet is a mini quick start guide to warm up your brain.

Kelly covers

• The problem with labeling

• Curiosity & reflective practice

• Descriptor Menus and Focus Area Experiments

There is a fun activity that you can use online or download for off-line use to get a feel for using descriptor menus and focus area experiments. Make sure to watch the 'how-to' video to use it properly (hint - change 'edit' to 'present' in URL)

And there's a spot for you to catch your thoughts, start a conversation, ask questions, share examples or insights, struggles or wins and generally connect with other amazing members. Just hit the [Join the Conversation] button you'll find in Spotlight-1

Jump in!

We've got such a great learning journey ahead of us!

I know this because so many of you filled in the baseline quiz and it's fascinating where we all are in our understanding of interoception, and the interesting and practical questions many of you shared. I'll share more in the next email because this one is already too long!

Have fun delving into interoception this week!

Warm regards,

Mindy
