Firstly a huge warm welcome to our new members here in The Wired Collective. We're thrilled to have you join our community of amazing therapists passionate about all things neuromotor development and therapy. 👋😃

This is the space where we focus on building habits that support our ongoing quest to be the best therapist we can possibly be. In the hustle and bustle of our professional and family lives, it's so easy to get lost in the never-ending tasks. Being connected in The Wired Collective means you have a supportive space to nurture your passions, an easy way to sharpen you skills, revise the basics, stay on top of innovative approaches, all the things you need to stay energized and excited about the work you love doing.

If you're planning on getting the most out of your time in The Wired Collective, it might be helpful to dig into habit building 101 for a hot second. Most people assume the key to building habits is consistency and repetition - but the new habit science shows that (you may not be surprised to hear this) it's emotion. That's what cements the behaviour in and takes it from a routine to a habit. You need 3 things for quickly building a habit:

1 - A trigger (to get it going)

2 - A behaviour that's easy to do (a seed that may one day grow into a tree)

3 - An emotion - preferably a joyful one - a sense of pleasure, relief, pride etc.

This newsletter that comes each week should serve as your trigger to jump into the Dashboard and see what's happening in The Wired Collective. The behaviour is to simply click on any link in this newsletter that catches your attention and the emotion should be overwhelming excitement at all the good stuff that follows from doing that one simple behaviour 😃

Boom 💥 habit done and dusted! Too easy!!

Here's the details:

1 - Wrap up Q&A with Bronwen

Our wrap up Q&A with Bronwen is happening in 2 DAYS!! Bring you questions, bring insights. Browse through the content we've discussed and the resources we've shared so that you can make the most of this time with Bronwen.

Depending on how your brain works, there's 3 ways to do this.

1 - If you like tidy, focused content, go to Contents and Resources in the Dashboard where you can click on each section to focus in systematically on each topic we've discussed

2 - If you're visual and like to scan and jump to things that catch your attention, or want to quickly hone in on a topic of interest, use the Hub where you can search for key words and get a visual overview of each topic quickly and easily.

3 - If you're auditory, or just want to get away from the computer, use the HelloAudio podcast to listen to all the content as you go about your day. (email me if you don't have your link)

But no matter if you've managed to watch most of the content or just touched on a few topics, YOU.ARE.NOT.BEHIND! and you don't need to catch up. YOu just need to show up to our Big Meetup with Bronwen this week and be part of the conversation - this is where the magic happens!

2 - Scite Drop-Ins

About 140 Wired Members have signed up for Scite so far - which is AMAZING! We are going to have so much fun sharing our learning and insights this week.

But...

140 is just over half The Wired Collective so if you haven't yet filled in the Scite form, you need to do so ASAP to take full advantage of these next two weeks as we learn and explore together.

Drop in sessions are scheduled in the Dashboard and the TeamUp calendar (depending on how you like to look at things). Drop-ins are just what they sound like. Click the link in the Dashboard to join the meeting whenever they are on. There's no agenda. I'll be hanging out in our Wired Space to answer questions and share insights through out this week and very happy to connect with whoever shows up.

The most important thing is that you use these next few weeks to get yourself signed up and immersed in the platform so that by the time we meet with Sean, Scite's academic lead, we have some juicy, advanced, deep questions to throw at him. I've pushed that meeting to early August to give us time to play and explore with Scite before we meet up. Check the Dashboard for dates.

3 - It's Progress Pod Week

Progress Pod week is always the 3rd week of the month - it comes around so fast!! Usually it's a week where we hold all other Wired activities to make sure you have space to meet up with your pod - but somehow pod week got highjacked for August.

Between us rescheduling Bronwen's Q&A and adding in Scite things have gotten messy but it's still worth focusing on pods this week.

  • If your Pod group has managed to squeeze in a time to meet - please make sure to add it to the TeamUp calendar and add a note if you've got space for extra members.
  • If you're looking for a Pod and there's one at a time that suits you - check if they've got room. Pods are capped at 8 members each.
  • If you're looking for a Pod and there's not one happening at a time that suits you. Add a time to the TeamUp calendar and call it NEW so that other members who are looking can join you if it suits them. OR
  • If you join one of the drop-in sessions you may be able to create a new pod on the fly - you never know who shows up 😊

Phew! It's going to be a busy week, but so many good opportunities to connect, discuss and dig deep! Bring your coffee, your tea or what ever your favorite drink is and get ready to be inspired!

With so much enthusiasm,

Mindy

PS - if you're not part of the WhatsApp group, it's turning out to be a great place to connect for quick conversations and sharing. You should be able to join HERE >> and then add yourself to the chat HERE

PPS - Today's the last day to join The Wired Collective and take advantage of Scite so if you've got colleagues who are interested, give them a wee nudge!
