Hey ,
There's extra good learning in The Wired Collective this week, so don't skip this email (as if you would 😉).
First - Spotlight 5 has a ton of clinical wisdom jammed into 10 minutes of conversation ( 5 minutes on double speed - just saying).
Don't miss this one!
You don't need to do these spotlights in order.
You don't need to first listen to the previous 4.
You don't need to catch up.
Just jump right in and give it a listen.
And then, if I've peeked your wired curious mind - stick on some headphones and listen to the bonus podcast I've added at the bottom of the page (get nerdy). I would LOVE to know if you had previously considered mindfulness as potentially dangerous - it blew.my.mind! and yet is so obviously true once you hear the neuroscience explanation.
Second - We have a very special Wired Weekly Hot Topic tomorrow AND our last First New Wired Weekly happening at the end of the week. If this is sounding confusing, read on.
The Wired Weekly structure has changed this year and will run in cycles of 4 (one/week) where each of the four is intended to catch different time zones or schedules. There is one set Wired Weekly each week, and a floating option that we can schedule in to cover a specific hot topic, case study, or anything that you want to bring to the group. In other words, there will always be at least one Wired Weekly each week, sometimes two.
The bonus Wired Weekly this week is a HOT TOPIC:
Upper extremity e-stim
Join us on Zoom for a deep dive into estim for upper extremities. To share ideas, experiences and problem solve with a bunch of enthusiastic colleagues. It is not a lecture or teaching session and is open to therapists of all levels of experience. If you have been doing some estim to target upper limb function, or thinking about doing some estim for this, come join us. We will have some video clips ready for sharing and discussion, but feel free to bring your own too.
Wired Weeklies are not recorded so you just need your usual consent from parent/child to share videos and discuss their therapy with colleagues.
The other Wired Weekly happening at the end of this week will be a repeat of the the previous three - you can of course attend any and all. Last week we had a 'repeat attender', the fabulous Leandri, who reported that redoing the 5I's was super beneficial and worked EVEN better the second time around - so if you want to get s#@t done, I highly recommend you follow Jane's advice and show up for this last first new Wired Weekly!
(are you in our private Wired Collective FB group?)

Third - I'm bringing up Scite.ai again, with a confession that someone emailed me a few weeks ago to say they were having trouble logging into the WiredOn Scite account and I can't find their email - so apologies for not responding - but thank you for bringing up the topic.
If you have no idea what scite.ai is, it is an Al driven platform that provides citations from published articles. For more detailed info click here.
If you are not sure you have access to scite, or you want access to scite fill in this form ASAP so I can make sure you are signed in. If you're having trouble signing in by this time next week, please email me again (and apologies if I missed responding - feel free to hound me).
If you need a refresher on Scite.ai, I made a video recently for Susan Hastings as she was asking about how to look for research specifically comparing kids with CP to TD kids. In this video I to through my workflow on how I would do that. Check it out here even if it's just to see some fascinating research on this topic.
Warm regards,
Mindy
