You should never have to say 'Lift up your head' or 'pay attention!"

Hey
What is it about someone that makes you sit up and take notice of what they have to say?
There's a lot of noise out there with everybody being an 'expert'. Everywhere you turn there's a course or a method or new research that you're supposed to pay attention to. It can be hard to tell where to put your limited time and attention.
But every now and then, someone pops onto my radar that just makes me lift up my head and pay attention.
Karen Kangas is one of those gems!
Talk about getting everyone she touches to sit up straight, lift up their head and pay attention. No matter if you're the child she's working with; or the therapist whose listening to her clinically reason her way through why we need to think and understand things from a whole new paradigm.
Karen is an Occupational Therapist, Adjunct University Faculty, Seating, Positioning and Mobility Specialist, Clinical, Educator and Assistive Technology Specialist.
But really what she is is someone who can take the most complex kids and get them engaged and active in a task that nobody else thought was possible. And explain HOW she did it and WHY it works!
Seriously, you need to hear her talk!
Have a listen to her at ISS last year

And then head on over to the WiredOn Development website with your questions:
Pick your most complex topics related to seating, access, dystonia, head control, attention, AAC, alignment, symmetry and more and I might be able to ask Karen to answer it during the interview.
But be quick - our interview is next week!
You can ask your questions anonymously, or leave your name. The choice is yours.
With so much enthusiasm,
Mindy
PS - we're chatting about Karen on our FB group and page. Here's a therapists and parent's perspective (amongst many - aka - it' not just me that thinks she is amazing!)
