Hey ,

I treated a kid with arthrogryposis a few years back. If you've ever worked with a kid with arthogryposis you'll know how amazingly determined these little kids can be. This guy sticks in my head for his constant 2-year-old war cry

"I do it!"

His upper limbs were so much more affected than his legs but he was determined to do everything himself from dressing, to eating, to playing. He found a way to do it and you better just get out of his way and let him get on with it!

And he did - for the most part.

But every now and then the logistics and the reality of non-functional shoulders and elbows got the better of him and he needed help. Such a wise little man who looked you straight in the eye and asked for what he needed as just a statement of fact. My heart would squeeze tight - I was in awe of this wee guy.

So I'm taking my lessons from this 2 year old and asking for help.

Our Wired Collective progress pods are one of the most valuable activities we do around here and although there's some brilliant groups that are humming along like a hit song, there's a whole bunch of members that are not connected in groups or struggling to get groups going. Plus there's members that need a little more support to connect and navigate The Wired Collective, and I would love to have an engagement crew that could help us all stay more connected and up to date with all the amazing things everyone is doing in this Collective.

I am so often blown away by this increadible community and all the little side projects, big projects, innovative projects, ideas and activities that are going on all around us, but I often miss them, or I'm not aware of them, and I want to be able to capture and share them, celebrate them and support them.

So...

All this to say, I feel like I'm only scratching the surface of the power of this community but I can't go deeper without help - If you're interested in helping me, and being a part of The Wired Collective Engagement Crew (and snagging a discount on your membership), please reply to this email and I'll send you more details.

And in case you missed the weekends email, I'm so excited to announce that our next fun learning adventure is a dive into the world of coaching and the therapeutic relationship with Dr Fi Graham is the pediatric occupational therapist who developed Occupational Perfromance Coaching (OPC). An evidence based coaching intervention that gives therapist the tools and structure to build therapeutic relationships with parents and moves therapy to whole new level of success. OPC was one of those practice changing courses I did several years ago and I am a HUGE fan!

It's honestly one of those essential tools in your toolbox that they forget to give you in your undergrad training.

And of course, don't forget we've got our upcoming Masterclass with Sean Rife, co-founder of Scite. Sean is a professor of psychology, with expertise in so many areas that are important to us as clinicians grappling with the difficulties of accessing good research to support our clinical practice so it's going to be a mind-blowingly helpful Masterclass.

All this to say - it's good time to be a member of The Wired Collective 😊 and it's always more fun with friends - so Thank You!!! for supporting this community and the ripples we make going out into the world to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible!

With such appreciation for you!

Mindy
