Hey

I have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

A bunch of us have been working behind the scenes on a very cool project. We're organizing a Clinical Excellence Summit with a focus on facilitating conversations that integrate science, research and clinical expertise - bridging the gap between good science and good clinical practice.

We are especially keen to feature speakers who are

  1. Clinicians and/or course providers who can represent the real-world impact of interventions from both a clinical and patient perspectives. A feature of this summit will be case studies, particularly featuring long-term outcomes (5+ years).
  2. Clinicians who are also doing research and can speak to the challenges, benefits and reality of clinicians doing clinical research

If you fit into one or both of these categories - we want you!

Please reply back to this email with a talk suggestion before the end of the week so we can put your name forward at our next Summit committee meeting.

If you can recommend someone who you think would be amazing, I would so appreciate your helping us get connected.

The summit will be in early September and be a mix of pre-recorded talks for sharing knowledge, and panel discussions for stimulating engaging conversations.

Here's our Summit themes to get you excited:

  • Research and Clinical Practice: Exploring innovative methodologies beyond traditional RCTs
  • Technology, Adaptive Equipment and Environmental Enrichment Across the ICF: Reconnecting Body Structure/Function, Activity, and Participation
  • Approaches to Complex Care: Integrating Research and Practice for GMFCS IV-V
  • Physiological Priorities: Optimizing Core Health in Complex Disabilities (respiratory care, bowel and bladder function, oral health, sleep etc)
  • Navigating Complexity: Knowledge Translation and Systems Science in research and practice
  • Back to basics: Biomechanics, neuroscience, sensorimotor systems, vision and perception, posture and postural control, motor control and more
  • Reality Check: Therapy in real life and the lived experience

On another note - but still talking about research - our Wired Weeklies July series is all about finding fun rabbit holes to go down with Scite.ai. Last week we spent time trying to find out more about research related to developmental optometry in infants and toddlers. Come nerd out with me this week and get a better grasp of using Scite whilst entertaining yourself with awesome insights and fabulous research finds. Who knows where we will go.

BIG NOTE: I've shifted this weeks Wired Weekly time to a UK/SA/Aus/NZ/Euro friendly timezone because it was so awesome to see so many of you awesome people the last time we had a meeting at this time.

I'm also focusing on building beautiful connections through Facebook over the next few weeks. If FB is your jam (no judgement here - it's where I seem to hang out the most) Then make sure you're connecting and commenting so that the FB alogorythm bots know you're keen to connect with your amazing Wired Colleagues.
