Hey ,

Coming to you from this little van somewhere in the beautiful South Island - freezing cold outside but snug inside and looking forward to a chill week traveling...image

But... I've checked out the internet coverage and we're still good to go for our Wired Weekly this week - so if you haven't yet managed to catch one, this is the last one where I will be sharing my brilliant (if I say so myself) insights into how interoception plays a significantly impactful role in facilitating self-initiation of the hemi hand during spontaneous play.

The conversations have been so insightful over the last wired weeklies and I've loved the way different brains have picked out different ideas each time I share the same video of this child's progress. It's so fun and such good learning.

If you haven't yet been to a Wired Weekly, here's what you need to know:

1 - It's a fabulous way to meet amazing Wired Collective members!

2 - It's informal and super welcoming!

3 - It's a great way to get energised and remember why you do this everyday!

Check times HERE

And whilst you're checking out times, make sure to book your seat for the upcoming Wise Table next week.

This is an opportunity to get an inside perspective on the lived experience of interoception processing difficulties from an OT who walks the talk and understands exactly what we struggle with as clinicians.

Rachel Thompson is not only an occupational therapist who has lead a team of therapists. She is also a teacher who has worked in various roles including Vice Principle and Head of Education. She describes herself as autistic and has a particular interest in the use of outdoor environments for developing sensory integration.

Kelly Mahler and Rachel are sitting down at a Wise Table to discuss the things that really get to the heart of the work they are both doing and you are invited!

Book Your Seat at the Wise Table Here!

and if you're wanting to immerse yourself in interoception so that you get even more out of the upcoming meetings, here's the best way to do it:

🔎 If you're structured and systematic >> Go to the Dashboard Course and work your way though each section in order.

🧭 If you're more of a browser >> Go to The Hub and browse through the resources and videos.

🎧 If you're tired of sitting in front of a screen >> Go to your podcast player and listen on the go!

📖 If you're a note-taker >> Go to your SmartDoc in the dashboard and capture your thoughts as they happen. (💡Did you know you can download your SmartDoc as a PDF for offline memory jogs? Reply back to this email if you need help with that)

AND we're not finished yet!! The pace is going to be a little slower, but the learning is going to be even more AMAZING!

What else is happening in the community:

  • Stacie is asking for ideas with use strapping to support knee extension in a 14 year old post SDR HERE
  • Collaborate on getting NRX products to the USA HERE
  • Are you going to Cairns for the AACPDM? Connect HERE
  • No cry zones? Is this a contentious issue? Add your thoughts HERE

With oodles of enthusiasm for what's possible,

Mindy
