This could be traumatic!

Hey
Spotlight 4 & 5 of Interoception with Kelly Mahler may just be my favorites. We dig into trauma and early intervention and this is where the dots started to connect for me.
Set a side 15 minutes to review these spotlights - it's so worth your time - and just to nudge you a little in case you need it - it's the easiest way to potentially earn yourself some serious Cont. Ed $$ so... you know... so little to lose and so much to gain π€
And just in case you still need a little bit more inspiration, here's a snippet or two from brilliant Wired Minds from last week.
"Being curious without expectation of a response sends the message we are open to learning more about their inner experience and the vocabulary that supports this."
Sonya Shull
"Setting interoception boundaries helps you manage stress and avoid overwhelm."
Tracy Parker
"A kid I works with seems to respond well to me bringing awareness to what's going on inside when he starts to act out, with strategies like 'do you want to take a few minutes'-- however I realize that I have been generally commenting on what I'm thinking is happening rather than being curious/wondering about it and helping him be curious too. He's away for the summer but I'm excited to try being 'curious' more and seeing if I can get him involved in the curiosity."

Instructions
1 - Share a Nugget: Each week we will be focusing on one or two past activities. This week we are on spotlights:
You don't' have to do it all, but do one thing.
Squiz through the spotlight resources, watch the video, listen to the podcast, read the transcript.
2 - Take the Challenge and Reflect: Dive deeper into the content by taking the challenge for double entries into the draw. This week's task is to explain an interception concept from one of the articles in spotlight 4 or 5 to a colleague then reflect back on your own understanding - what did you learn from trying to teach something to someone else? My recommendation would be this one: 'Action Understanding Promoted by Interception in Children: A Developmental Model' because everyone needs a meaty challenge in their lives π
βοΈBONUS POINTS: Take a selfie that reflects how you felt about this challenge and upload in the comments
3 - Ask a Curious Question: Curious questions are our highest value here in The Wired Collective. So for an impressive triple entry into the draw, add a curious question this week. It can be about the two spotlights we are covering, or any other question that's come up for you about interoception that you would like us to dig into in our wrap-up Q&A with Kelly Mahler
.
This is your chance to spark a thought-provoking discussion.
The Interoception Quest for Curious Minds is not just an opportunity to win a valuable continued education voucher, but it's also a chance to deepen your understanding, connect with amazing members, and improve your clinical practice.
What's not to get excited about?
TEAM CHALLENGE: For 2 bonus points each. Each choose an article from the current spotlights to read and report back your key-take a ways to you team. Follow the team booklet instruction you should have received. If you didn't get it - email me here and I'll send it your way.
(note - if you are in a team, you will have received an email with a mini-accelerator-how-to booklet. If you're not in a team and you want to join one, click HERE)
Logistics
- Notifications: You'll want to make sure your notification settings are correct so that you don't miss out on the nuggets, insights and questions, and you also don't get too many notifications that clog your inbox. Head over to your profile and check you are happy with your notification settings HERE. You can choose from hourly, daily, weekly notifications - or none - but that would be pretty sadπ
- Prize Draw: We will do the Prize Draw at our Big Wrap-Up Q&A. You can check times and grab a seat HERE. Any comment you add as part of the challenge over this week gets you entries into the draw. You don't need to have completed all of them, but the more you complete, the more your chances (and your awesomeness) grow.
- Navigating the challenge: The challenge is being hosted in the community forum on The Wired Collective Dashboard. There are 3 posts where you can add your comments. Add your nuggets in the nugget post, your reflection in the reflection post, and your question in the question post - you get the idea right π
The Community forum can be accessed from your side menu in the dashboard, or click any of the buttons in the instructions above to jump directly to the post.
That's it - let's play!
Have a wonderful week!
Mindy
