Hey ,

Here's your checklist for all things Wired

Go Mobile

Did you know you can access all The Wired Collective info on your phone. There's not an official app, but the website is optimised for mobile phones which means it works exactly like an app. You can watch this riveting 7 minute video on how to make it work for you so you are never more than a device away from getting all the Wired goodness. Around the 5 minute mark I show you how to add it to your home screen so it essentially functions exactly like an app > WATCH IT HERE

Be in it to Win it:

The nuggets, insights and reflections are continuing to roll in and inspire me! I don't think I can put into words how in awe I am of the amazing therapists in this Collective. Here's a few more submissions to inspire and challenge you too:

"I have been really thinking about how challenging coaching is, particularly under the time crunch, to not revert to the advice monster at the end of the session!

Vickie Meade

"We've had a big push for coaching method in my early intervention setting. As per usual with me I pushed against it hard at first because a lot of the criteria was so counter-cultural to how I currently do things. Over time and with more deep dives I have realized that coaching is not discounting my educational experience, but rather pulling parents into the experience and allowing me to use my knowledge and skill base to come alongside them to work towards goals that best meet each individual family. One of my clients this week I decided to go in with this approach. Ask mom what they have been doing this week, what's worked, what hasn't and what is the biggest concern. It ended up leading to a beautiful, organic sensory regulation type treatment session, pulling mom alongside to combat this kids foundation issue that is causing many of the other "problems" or "behaviors" as mom puts it. The most important thing though was that it got mom on board and she has done some sensory regulation activities every day and has seen a decrease in the most problematic behavior she was concerned with.

Candace Frantz

"What is your takeaway for today" and "what feels most doable for you over the coming week" are the two quotes I found surprisingly great for ending my session. How parents feel about the session is not always how I feel, which reminds me to reflect more on the conversation I had with families. Also, when I asked about "what feels most doable" for parents, things they come up with are sometimes things I have never thought of, which is a really great quote to continue for my professional growth.

So good!!

Progress with Pods & Accelerator Pods

Progress Pods happen in the third week of each month. It's a great way to connect with some amazing members, keep your momentum going, learn something new, problem solve, keep yourself accountable, laugh, re-energise, have fun... and more!

If you're not yet in a Pod - it's easy to get it sorted HERE

And if you missed it, I'm testing out a Pod Accelerator idea. Having just completed both Susan Hastings and Billi Cusicks courses, I am selfishly looking for ways to make sure I optimize my learning. Discipline is not my strongest suit so I have to hack it with accountability. I know I'm not the only one who struggles with the discipline of re-reading the course manual and then wishing you had someone to bounce ideas off of as you implement. Hence the Pod Accelerator idea >>>

6 meetings in 6 weeks to revise, discuss and implement.

I'm starting with Susan Hastings estim manual. If you've done the 'Spark the change' course and you'd like to join me to accelerate your learning and implementation, just reply back to this email.

The Mana Study Discussion:

I'm leaving this one in her because it was such a thought provoking discussion! Well worth listening in on. Watch it HERE

_____

And lastly, just a reminder - you don't have to do it all (although how amazing would that be!!?! 😃)

Just pick one that sounds the most interesting and jump in.

You've got this!

Mindy

PS. Whilst you're thinking about it, book a seat for our wrap up Q&A in Feb with Fi so you've carved out some space for it - click HERE

PPS. You may have heard rumors about an NZ/Aus meetup happening in 2024 to coincide with the Australian Academy of CP and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Conference in Cairns. The AACPDM conferences are always high quality learning and Cairns is spectacular! If you're keen hit reply and tell me if you'd prefer a meetup in Cairns or you want to add NZ to your travels since you're coming all this way anyway.
