A tool to enhance children's participation in pediatric rehabilitation

Hey ,

I'll let you in on a little secret, the best way to get up to speed quickly with research when you don't have the time to search and sift through all the academic articles and papers yourself, is to grab someone whose recently published on the topic and hear what they have to say. You know they've done all the work of finding the recent and the relevant publications. Of working out who the key authors are on the topic and understanding the arguments. It's why I love the ScholarSip Café because that's exactly what we get to do.

And it only gets better when you show up to contribute to the conversation and bring it back to what really matters - how do we apply this in our individual clinical settings.

The author of this recent research paper: Co-development of the CMAP Book: a tool to enhance children's participation in pediatric rehabilitation (Disabil Rehabil. 2022) is Nea Vänskä, a senior lecturer in rehabilitation and a doctoral researcher at University of Helsinki.

She's joining us for a discussion about her recent publication and the lessons she learned from co-designing a simple tool (aka an iPad or similar) to capture videos, photos, pictures, recording and writing that facilitate children's active participation and agency in goal setting, rehabilitation and in everyday life.

Don't miss out because it's going to be a great discussion with lots of clinical take-a-ways.
