Good morning, good evening, good afternoon - where ever you are in the world I hope your past week was full of learning, rabbit holes and excitement π
I know mine certainly was!
I've loved all the messages of little nuggets, time saving stories and fun discoveries as so many of you have had a chance to dig into Scite. And our wrap up session with Bronwen was jam packed with insights and rich conversations around things like color and complexity (there's a hint in there if you haven't completed the crossword π), using assessments and screening tools, dealing with challenges, ideas, strategies, tips and insights ie you definitely want to give it a watch, and whilst you're there - try out the new comments section under the video - and click the Attachment tab to access the bonus resources.
This week we are making space in The Wired Collective to keep playing with Scite. Next week we have Sean Rife joining us to answer ALL the hard questions in our up coming Scite Masterclass.
I'm so excited to have Sean leading this session - not only because he is the co-founder of Scite, but because as a professor of psychology, he has expertise in so many areas that are important to us as clinicians grappling with the difficulties of accessing good research to support our clinical practice.
Here's just a taste of some of the interesting publications he has co-authored related to scite
- scite: a smart citation index that displays the context of citations and classifies their intent using deep learning
- Measuring the quality of scientific references in Wikipedia: an analysis of more than 80M citations to over 800,000 scientific articles
- Science with no fiction: measuring the veracity of scientific reports by citation analysis
And a few others that are just well... interesting
- Participant recruitment and data collection through Facebook: the role of personality factors
- Social support seeking in response to stress: Person-level moderators, contextual factors, and the role of online venues
- Examining Cultural, Social, and Self-Related Aspects of Stigma in Relation to Sexual Assault and Trauma Symptoms
All this to say - Sean is a well rounded guy who has a wealth of knowledge and information that we get to tap into in this interactive Scite Masterclass session.
βοΈBring your questions, bring your frustrations of what hasn't worked in your Scite searches and take advantage of this opportunity to master Scite, but also to influence Scite's future capabilities.
We have Sean's attention for 90 minutes - let's make the most of it!!
With that in mind
The Wired Weeklies this week will be available for us to share our experiences so far with Scite and problem solve any low-tech issues that I can help you with.
And check out the Community chat where you can share some of you aha moments and be inspired
- Lee Ann shared such an inspiring story about a 10 year old with CVI, GMFCS V mastering independent mobility in a power chair >> LINK
- I had so much fun chatting with Tova in last weeks drop-in that I had to summarize and share it >> LINK
- And you might have something to contribute to this conversation on positioning systems >> LINK
Have fun chatting, connecting, thinking, exploring and generally just being your awsome curious, passionate self.
With so much enthusiasm,
Mindy
PS - if you're not part of the WhatsApp group, it's turning out to be a great place to connect for quick conversations and sharing. You should be able to join HERE >> and then add yourself to the chat HERE
PPS - I thought I'd reshare habits 101 from last weeks newsletter in case you missed it: You need 3 things for quickly building a habit:
1 - A trigger (to get it going)
2 - A behaviour that's easy to do (a seed that may one day grow into a tree)
3 - An emotion - preferably a joyful one - a sense of pleasure, relief, pride etc.
This newsletter that comes each week should serve as your trigger to jump into the Dashboard and see what's happening in The Wired Collective. The behaviour is to simply click on any link in this newsletter that catches your attention and the emotion should be overwhelming excitement at all the good stuff that follows from doing that one simple behaviour π
Boom π₯ habit done and dusted! Too easy!!
