Karen is a a pioneering occupational therapist with over 50 years of experience in pediatrics, seating, and AAC. Karen's innovative approach to treating children with complex disabilities, particularly those with dystonia and dystonic cerebral palsy, has led to the development of the barrier vest. This lightweight trunk orthosis, made from Plastazote, reduces singular pressure points that trigger dystonic movements, improving postural control, engagement and transfers.
