How a smoothie almost got me stabbed

Good morning ,

I am a huge fan of including smoothies in my daily regimen. Not only are they delicious, but they can also pack a punch full of nutrient-dense ingredients. Add in a spoonful of Greek yogurt, some frozen spinach, and a scoop of protein powder, and voila! Not only have you increased your greens intake but your protein as well.

Now to the stabbing part…

Working in the fitness industry, my wife and I tend to get up early, like REALLY early, as in the hour hand on the clock is still on 4 AM early. Even as a morning person, I often wouldn’t mind an extra hour or so of sleep most weekdays. Imagine how a non-morning person might feel… that’s my wife. She is one of those “Do not disturb, have not had my coffee yet” kind of people.

One day I decide to change up my breakfast, time to switch out the oatmeal for something a little lighter. You guessed it, smoothies for breakfast!

Tasha and I are both awake, getting ready for the workday, and not really thinking much of it, I blend my new breakfast… at 4:45 am. Next thing I know Tasha gets a glimmer of becoming Love Quinn from season 3 of Netflix’s YOU, clenching a knife with a stern look in her eye. (It may or may not have been a butter knife but still).

It was at this moment I realized that even though I love smoothies and the thought of having one for breakfast each day was a good decision, I’d have to wait until either finished her coffee or left the house already.

Pro tip: If you plan to have a smoothie for breakfast, blend it up the night before and leave it in the fridge. Not only will this save you time in the morning, but it might save your relationship.
