In response to the mounting attacks on democracy, civil liberties, and the basic well-being of vulnerable communities under the current administration, we propose launching a modern-day cultural call-to-action—a campaign in the spirit of Live Aid and We Are the World, mobilizing high-profile artists and citizens alike in a unified, visible demand for justice.
This isn’t just about music. It’s about reclaiming power through culture, storytelling, and mass visibility. We want to build momentum for a national concert and media event series designed to:
Speak out against authoritarianism and injustice.
Reaffirm our commitment to equity, voting rights, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ protections, and more.
Raise funds for the communities being most devastated by the federal budget cuts and anti-democratic policies.
We envision a flagship benefit concert with companion satellite events and digital campaigns, centered on reclaiming democracy and caring for the communities being targeted—from trans youth and undocumented families to SNAP recipients and veterans.
We want to build a cultural moment—a spark—that energizes both new and longtime supporters of our movement. The idea would be to center artists with national recognition and a commitment to justice:
Potential Headliners: Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, Lizzo, John Legend, Billie Eilish, Hozier, Eminem, and others who have used their platforms to speak out before.
Partnerships: Collaborate with artists' charitable foundations, activist influencers, grassroots orgs, and mutual aid networks.
1. Shift the Narrative: Reach the politically disengaged by meeting them through music and culture.
2. Fund Vulnerable Communities: All proceeds from performances go toward groups harmed by budget cuts: reproductive clinics, housing advocates, trans support orgs, immigrant legal aid, etc.
3. Mobilize Action: Encourage voter registration, community engagement, and protest participation at every turn.
If fascism thrives in silence, let us drown it out with sound. We believe the cultural moment is ripe for a bold, unifying event that centers hope, solidarity, and resistance.
Let’s make history. Let's make "good trouble." Let’s bring beautiful voices together.
