Springtime News!

Happy Spring!

It's only April, and I've already been to two homeschool conventions! Well, actually, they're the only two on my schedule this year. And oddly enough, they were back to back.

Here I am in St. Charles, Missouri, with my own books and those of New Classic Study Guides, a group of Christian middle-grade authors.

I also found myself in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This statewide convention is like a small town: people are friendly and relaxed, happy to talk and happy to come back and talk some more.

I talked to several aspiring writers in various stages of their craft, and gave what I hope is helpful advice. Had lots of conversations, and enjoyed interacting with the young ones who were very interested in my little dog figures. People liked the idea behind New Classics: study guides written by authors, available for free download, for a curated selection of new classic books.

"The library is a dangerous place now," said one woman, referring to what she sees as political slant in many kids' books. She was delighted to be able to look over my selection of books written by Christians. I made a number of sales and gave out lots of postcards. I also collected lots of signups for our New Classics newsletter. All in all, a good weekend. (Check out New Classics here: https://www.newclassicsstudyguides.com )

Book News!

Return of the Cave Lion, Book 4 in my Guardians of Time series, is scheduled for release July 15. My illustrator has had all kinds of things come up, and she's running at least a month late. So, please pray with me that she gets her act together! Meanwhile, you can preorder the ebook for just 99 cents: on sale for the time being!

Book 1 in Tales of Roland is on schedule for release in September. This illustrator is hard at work, I hope. I got lots of cheers and chuckles last month when I sent you the above picture of Roland.  Roland is an odd duck--he doesn't follow Mama like his eight brothers and sisters do. So, naturally, he gets into trouble!

While I'm waiting for illustrators to finish, I'm doing things like going to homeschool conventions and writing emails to you.
