What happens when I produce my books in audio is the actor literally becomes the character for me. I hear the actor's voice in my head when I'm writing. This means relevant accents are a must. If the character is from Brooklyn, there are going to be some er-s turned into uh-s. If he's Parisian or Russian, best believe I need them to sound that way.
