This past week, I've been nostalgic for the late 80s. I was a young teenager and the world seemed so much safer back then. I'm not talking about the actual crime statistics, but rather the general outlook on the good will of the world around me.

This is probably because my biggest concern was what new movie was going to be opening at the Main Street theatre and could I skimp on my lunch allowance enough during the week to score a ticket. I didn't grow up rich, but I made up for it with fun. Think it's time to get an 80s movie marathon going this weekend. And, of course I'm toying with some "historical fiction" plot bunnies about the ancient times of 1987.
