Hi ,
I wish I could say that I've made remarkable progress. But the truth is, I've been struggling. Since my miscarriage, I've managed to write a rough draft of the relatable scenes in Once upon a Forbidden Door. But that's all I've managed to accomplish. I've attempted to sit down and write other parts, but I haven't managed it yet. Mostly, my only wins recently has been a lot of house cleaning and baking. I guess that's just the season I'm in at the moment, but I hope it will get easier soon.
Overall, I've just felt down. Things that I can usually brush off as just annoyances have been getting to me pretty badly. I've barely been checking my author inbox because it's almost exclusively scams these days. The emails that make you feel good initially because it sounds like someone found your work and is praising it, before you realize it's all information that can be found on the sales page and this is really just someone who is trying to sell you something and probably won't even deliver on whatever they're promising.
I'm sorry for such a gloomy update. My impulse is to retreat whenever I feel down, but I'm trying to make sure I keep up with at least my minimal commitments like sending my monthly emails.
I at least think I mentioned this last month, but I feel like it's worth mentioning again: I'm pulling Once upon a Betrothal from Kindle Unlimited and don't plan to enroll anything in the program in the foreseeable future. If you want to read Once upon a Betrothal in KU, make sure to download it before June 15th.

A Goblet of Guises and Gooseberries by Abigail Manning
A basket of berries, a dash of wild goose chases, and an identity swap that is nothing to honk about.
Princess Emaline has waited long enough for her betrothed’s family to invite her into their kingdom after the lengthy acquisition of a workers’ agreement. Accompanied by her new handmaiden and joined by a freeloading goose who rides valiantly on the carriage roof, Emaline is eager to explore her new kingdom–until her first exploration gets up close and personal with a local mud puddle.
A less-than-cordial exchange with their goose stalker leaves Emaline completely unsuitable to meet her future in-laws. In a desperate attempt to save face, her handmaiden kindly offers to greet the royals in her honor. Which would have been a grand solution had they not mistaken the polite maid for Princess Emaline…
Muddy, lost, and ready to pluck a goose, Emaline hunts for a discreet place to tidy up before rescuing her maid from the mix-up. But during her hunt for clean water, she stumbles onto the slave master's property and is taken in as a new worker. With no way to prove her identity or get in touch with her maid, Emaline must rely on the help of a smooth-talking farmhand who just so happens to be head over boots for the new princess. Now tasked with making the gooseberry wine for her own table, can Emaline reclaim her crown? Or is it all destined to be a wild goose chase?
A Goblet of Guises and Gooseberries, a retelling of the Goose Girl is a standalone novella, filled with Identity Swaps, Crazed Geese, Forbidden Romance, and a Cozy Berry Farm Setting. It is part of The Enchanting Confections series, a collection of clean and cozy stories guaranteed to delight your sweet tooth.

Lizzy’s only goal is survival. For eighteen years she’s hidden her strange sparks of magic, obeyed her cruel uncle, and endured a life of servitude with one desperate hope—one day she’ll be free. A dragon with a mission and a mate he never wanted
Killian has spent centuries earning coin, avoiding attachments, and staying far from anything that could become a weakness. So when he tracks the magical signature of the girl he was hired to eliminate, he expects a simple contract. Instead, he finds a terrified young woman with lightning magic in her veins… and realizes, with dawning horror, that she is his fated mate. Handing her over is impossible. Killing her is unthinkable. Keeping her may destroy him.
From the grime of the tavern to the heights of the dragon-peaks, the hunt is on.
Freedom was her goal, but a throne might be her destiny.
How could we have been so terribly wrong?
It’s been hiding for centuries, controlling the minds of its unwilling victims to do its bidding.
It’s creating an army. It will strike soon.
Raylyn, Azar and their young daughter arrived at the isle of Arcadia for this year’s festival of lights. For hundreds of years, the festival has been the cultural gathering for the many tribes of Insularia. As always, food, fun, and friends were to be expected, but all that changed with the horrific announcement that the lord had fallen. Lord Theodore, loved by all, was dead. The purge had begun. Let it be known that as of this day, every soul not born of Arcadia is marked for exile.
From the shadows the hunters have risen. The ultimate goal, to steal the spirit of the one thought safe.
The danger is clear; we cannot win this fight. Our child is with friends in the city, but we must flee for our lives. We must flee the island, leaving our daughter behind.
