Hi ,
Last month's giveaway winner is Shelly at csh ... 869 at aol dot com. If this is you, you should have received your gift card by now.
At this point, I've worked through the first 7 chapters of Once upon a Betrothal for my solo stage of developmental edits. If you look check it out on Ream, there's a chapter skip from 7 to 9 because I merged two of the original chapters. It's taken longer to get this far than I'd like, but the delays were necessary. Most of the delay has been the need to work out specific details that I need to know for future books where they cross into this one. A lot of that isn't something that will make it on the page here, but not working it out would make writing those books much harder when the time comes because I'll be locked into whatever I do write into this one about these other characters.
Some of the extra time was spent digging into my already published books to make sure nothing here contradicts what I have in other books. I found myself quite irritated with past me for not taking any notes on Once upon an Isle of Treasure. At least, if I had them, they must have been on one of my many papers lying around and not transferred into my computer files. I know I was having a rough time at that point, but by not keeping an easy to find record, it's been tedious to find details about Lillian's sister that appears in this book.
As far as the audiobooks go, I keep missing my window to schedule training at the library since there's a specific person to talk to that's only there sometimes. Hopefully, I can manage to call at the right time this week to move forward on that front.
For this month's giveaway of a $5 Amazon gift card, hit reply and let me know why you're here. Did you join my list through one of my book giveaways on Bookfunnel or StoryOrigin? Did you read one of my books and sign up after that? Or was it something else entirely? Have you read any of my books? And what did you think about it/them if you did? You don't have to go into detail or answer all of my extra questions, but I'd like to know.
Sales, Freebies, and/or New Releases
I don't have anything of my own to put here right now, but I noticed that Mary Mecham's villainous Goose Girl retelling, Betraying Korth, is currently FREE on Amazon. I don't know how long it'll stay that way, but I'd highly recommend getting it. I've read everything in this series so far and these are the type of books that tempt me to stay up late to finish reading. You can read this one without too many spoilers from previous books, but I would recommend starting at book 1 for context on some of the side characters.

Betraying Korth by Mary Mecham
Traitorous spies don’t deserve happily ever afters.
Dahlia has always known her life would end at the bottom of a hangman’s noose. But treason seems a small price to pay if it meant a chance to free her people from the iron grip of their tyrannical king. Dahlia can’t fail the rebellion now.
Dahlia’s time playing the role of obedient handmaiden to Odette, the king’s entitled daughter, comes to an end when Odette is sent to marry her betrothed, and Dahlia strikes without mercy. After a swift mutiny en route to Haven Harbor, she forces the king’s daughter to trade places with her and upon arrival, masquerades in her mistress’s place.
If she can ensure Haven Harbor’s loyalty to her rebellion, the king’s oppressive reign could end. But the princess’s fiancé, Korth, isn’t the man she expected, and her loyalties become torn as she begins to fall for him. Continuing the façade will force Dahlia to betray Korth, but to reveal the truth spells her own treasonous demise.
Is a life of lies better than no life at all?
Betraying Korth is the third book in the Legends of Neverland series but can also be read as a stand-alone novel.
