Hi ,
The winner of last month's giveaway is Jeff at nou ... ope at yahoo dot com. If this is you, you should have received your gift card by now,
In the last few weeks, I've had four occasions where I injured one or both of my hands. Today is the first day in a while that I dared to touch my keyboard. Unfortunately, it's still pretty painful to do much with my hands, so I don't have much to share. I'm sorry I completely missed the first email I was supposed to send this month, but I just couldn't physically manage.
I've gone through most of the notes related to Once upon a Stepmother. Now, I'm rereading Once upon a Shoe for anything applicable that I may have missed in my notes. Hopefully, by the time my hands want to work without pain, I'll be able to start actively working on the first draft. I'm planning to reach out to my cover artist for the series next month to start work on the cover.
For the audiobooks, I probably should have made some significant progress, since that work doesn't require much hand movement. But I just couldn't get into the right headspace.
Before I tell you how to enter this month's giveaway, I need to provide some context. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before or not, but I've wanted to do something special with Once upon a Stepmother for a long time. For this book, I plan to donate 100% of my profit to help domestic violence victims because it's a cause that's important to me.

The Midnight Ride by Robin Sarty
A midnight ride. A crown in danger. A love worth the risk.
Philippa Secord has always belonged in the stables more than the ballroom. With only the company of horses to ease the neglect of her stepmother, she clings to her home with everything she has left. But when a midnight ride leads her straight into an invasion, she finds herself caught in a battle with stakes far greater than her own survival.
Prince William wasn't supposed to be king so soon, but with his father gone and the kingdom’s future in jeopardy, he must secure his throne — and that means securing a bride. Determined to inspire hope in his people, he plans a ball to announce his betrothal. Yet when the borders are threatened, William discovers that trust may be the most dangerous gamble of all.
Drawn together by loyalty and the whisper of something more, Philippa and William must stop the invasion before the kingdom falls. But in a world of secrets, swords, and stolen midnight rides, love could prove the most perilous risk of all.
A no-spice, slow-burn Cinderella retelling featuring hidden identities, a protective hero, and a stablehand heroine — The Midnight Ride is perfect for fans of A. G. Marshall, Melanie Cellier, and Sarah Carlisle.
Kiwi and the Big Storm by Sandra Littlejohn
Kiwi the monk parakeet lives a pretty great life with his mom and dad in Grandma Birdie’s backyard, splashing in their birdbath and munching on berries whenever they please. But the mood changes when Little Birdie, her granddaughter, appears on the porch steps, suitcase in hand and not a smile in sight.
When a wild winter storm blows through Austin, Kiwi is swept from his tree and separated from his parents. As the storm rattles the windows, a bird and a kid feeling lost find themselves together in the coziest kind of chaos. Sandra Littlejohn shows heart in a story about unexpected storms, waiting through the hard parts, and the joy of reunion.
