I decided to take a last minute vacation to Grenada with my girlfriend!! It is a super duper spur of the moment type trip. I've never visited Grenada before so if any of you have been there, send me some ideas.
On a more serious note, inflation rose to the highest in history in the at US 6.1%! Wowsers.
Bank of Canada is holding interest rates for now but they also warn that high inflation is going to persist to 2022 and we are just behind US.
Bank of Canada has given us a lot of warning that they will be raising interest rates as early as April 2021.
So what does that mean for your investments?
If history repeats itself, my best guess is that the stock market will go through a correction or pullback and the housing market could heat up again just before interest rates rise as people scramble to lock in low interest rates.
If you are looking to get buy another rental property or get a re-advanceable mortgage or refinance, it might be a good time now to lock in lower rates and get pre-approved. If you don't have a broker yet, I highly recommend Streetwise Mortgages.
