I built reko.day for a few reasons. One is that I believe there is way too much local food trapped and inaccessible to folks, and that's backwards. Two is that there great farmers, bakers, and other local makers who are struggling too much for too little. Finally, I think we have a pretty terrible relationship with food and nutrition in this country.

I built reko.day to help put a dent in these problems.

I want local food to be something that is as easy as going to the store, that supports local people and improves their lifestyle, and builds a stronger community around local food.

I have no idea if I'll succeed with any of that, but I'm going to try.

reko.day is at its very beginning, and you can be one of the people to help it succeed.

What reko.day needs most right now is a group of farmers, bakers, and makers who are willing to put up with the bugs and weird things and help get the app off the ground. I will work personally and tirelessly with any of you who are willing to give me a shot.
