I am really sad I got to know this late!

Some time ago, a friend posted a business reality TV show titled 'Lions Den' on her status and recommended that we all go to watch it.

I was quite engaged so I just made a screenshot and scheduled it for later. But I kept postponing until yesterday when I binge-watched some episodes on YouTube and couldn't stop screaming at the knowledge I have been missing for this long.

Very quickly, it is a reality TV show that gives budding entrepreneurs across Nigeria the chance to pitch their businesses to 5 successful Nigerian investors who can invest in their businesses, become their partners, and help them scale up efficiently.

In one of the episodes I watched, the entrepreneur had a wonderful idea and even a product to display but he missed it with his style of branding, cost of production, competition differentiation, price rate, volatile unit margin, scalability of products as things evolve-which all of these and some more make up an accurate business plan.

If you are an entrepreneur or intend to begin a business soon, then you know where I am headed with this already.

In other words, every entrepreneur including you needs to know how to write a salable business plan that properly guides the running of your business and can convert as well when pitching to angel investors.

The following steps we have put together would guide you on how to write a business plan;

  • Executive summary: this is the first step when you want to write a business plan. It is usually a short, simple, and explanatory introduction about your business.

  • Description of your Company: this is the next line of action in the process of writing a business plan which includes information like your business name, address, stakeholders, and partners as the case may be.

  • State your business goal and objective: this part helps state the purpose and goal of the business. At the stage of searching for a business loan or investment, this part of your plan would help buttress your need for funding.
