I was scrolling through Instagram last night and this podcast channel popped up on my wall.

The host was interviewing this teenager, Jack Doherty, who as at then was around fifteen years old and I thought it would be worth my time to watch.

Few seconds into the interview and I was almost screaming because how does a teen say he has made more than half a million dollar from YouTube and has even bought himself a house?

No way! At 15, I was still in senior secondary school waiting for the alarm to ring at 5am so I can prepare to go to school and then return home to complete assignments. That was basically life then!

At this point you might be saying under your breath we all have our timelines which I totally agree with. But please hear me out first.

So first of all, Jack Doherty, the teen from the interview, is an American YouTuber and prankster popularly known for his 'daredevil' stunts and pranks in various parks and shops as well as other places like bridges and cliffs.

He had been filming but really got to do his first YouTube video at age 12 where he was at school, flipping a yellow highlighter and trying to get it to land upright while filming it on his iPad.

He continued consistently with his content until 13 years old when he made his first revenue of $300 from his channel. Let me quickly ask, when did you start touching your own money?

Back to our talk, currently he is 18 and has a wider reach of 3.41m subscribers with a net worth of $2m.

This is where I find more exciting. In one of his interviews, he said that he had always known he wanted to passionately do this and that was why he started just doing his thing at a young age.

Honestly, we all have said this to ourselves one way or the other. You know that burning zeal for something that's both impacting and income worthy but somehow we're limited by time, equipment, resources or maybe the right mentorship to put our plans together.

However, you can't continue to admire the plans in your head and let them stay there.

No one gets rewarded by overthinking and wishing, put the plan down even with the limited resources, be consistent at it and then watch yourself thrive into the spotlight you envisage for yourself.
