3 Keys to Improving Hurdle Performance

There are three things that Coach West focuses on when developing hurdlers. Take off spot, lead leg mechanics, and trail leg mechanics.
#1 Take Off Spot Common Errors
1.) Athletes end up coming too close to the hurdle
2.) The alignment of the athlete at take-off is incorrect
3.) Athletes plant incorrectly at take-off

1.) Positioning and alignment of knee drive at take-off
2.) Hip flexibility
3.) Lead leg snap down quickness

#3 Trail Leg Common Errors
1.) Bringing trail leg wide
2.) Flicking the foot above or outside of the knee
3.) Dropping the knee
