Coach ,
Preparing the different components of an annual calendar is difficult for any event. Oftentimes endurance athletes can come in all different sizes, experiences, and passions. The challenge of planning and preparing the individual differences can oftentimes be the major factor in the success of the overall group.
John Wooden said, “failing to prepare is preparing to fail.” This is a reality that all endurance coaches know well. The athletes' failure to prepare is just as severe as the coaches' lack of preparation.
Diljeet Taylor (BYU) and Houston Franks (LSU) are two of the most successful coaches in the NCAA. Much like the runners they coach, their personal development and ascendance in the sport of distance running is evident.

Setting up a plan is one part of the equation. Coaches must then begin to monitor the progress of their athletes. Coach Franks discusses a system of evaluation used by coaches all the time. You may be using this system of evaluation but not applying the proper adjustments for the training.
The foundation of any great Cross Country program is built in the summertime. Coaches work to prepare and progress their runners and increase the athlete's aerobic capacity. Coach Taylor discusses the importance of summer running.
The simple goal is to increase mileage. The complex task is monitoring and adjusting the workouts for athletes throughout the different phases of your training program. Use these concepts to take your distance training program to another level.
Always be growing,
