Does Money Corrupt Good People?

Elon Musk recently announced he’d be selling his houses. In his words, they were “an attack vector.”

I took that to mean that people would use his wealth to undermine his true motivations… Material possessions soften his impact and ability to innovate.

He stoically took away the ammunition against him… but is it wrong to have nice things if you’ve worked hard for them?

As we move into an inevitable global recession, it’s worth acknowledging and reflecting on our own relationship with money and how you view it.

The truth is that it’s the blind pursuit of money, not the acquisition of it, that corrupts good people.

If you want more money to buy more things, you’ll inevitably lose a sense of your soul and purpose.

Most religions and philosophy practice poverty as character-building.

If you create things with purpose and money is a by-product of that hard work, then it won’t affect you. Your intentions are pure.

Loss humbles people – because who you are with nothing is who you really are.
