Ho! Ho! Know The Reason!

Dear Lady of Substance,

As we celebrate the joyous season of Christmas, I want to take a moment to remind you of the true reason we rejoice. In a bit, we’d get caught up in the activities and chaos of the holiday, and it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters. I’m sure you know that Jesus is the reason for the season. He is the one who brings light, love, and hope to our lives.

But beyond that, take a moment to reflect on the significance of his birth. What would be our lot if Jesus never came or never saved? What would be our fate if we had to attain our redemption and salvation? What if we were still separated from the love of God without Jesus bridging the gap? Remember the prophecy, the promise, and the fulfilment of God's plan to send His Son to save humanity. Let it stir up gratitude, faith, and love within you.

‘Jesus didn't come to the world to assist you in meeting desires you already had before you were born again. He came into the world to change your desires so that He's the main one.’ - John Piper.

Is Jesus the main character, centre plot, and executive producer of your life right now? Let today also be a reminder of what truly matters. It’s not about the applause of men, as Christ came in such a lowly state. It’s not the approval of men, as many didn’t even believe that their messiah had come. Not your ambition or desires, as this same Christ left it all to become flesh. But the one who gave everything up for you. Recentre Christ Today!

Don’t forget, the next most consequential event in human history is yet to happen—the second coming of Jesus. The only begotten of the Father arrived on a day like this, so let your heart be filled with:

  • Love, as you remember the love that God showed us through Jesus
  • Joy, as you celebrate the gift of salvation and eternal life
  • Peace, as you trust in God's sovereignty and provision
  • Hope, as you look forward to the promise of eternal life with Jesus

I pray that this Christmas season will be a time of refreshing, renewal, and rejoicing in the Lord.

May Jesus be the centre of your celebrations, and may His love, peace, and joy fill your hearts and homes.

Merry Christmas, dear sister!

Your Lady in Christ,

Anuoluwapo
