Even here, God is working.

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for [divinely guaranteed] and the evidence of things not seen—the conviction of their reality. Faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses.” — Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

Hey ,

We’re familiar with this ‘faith’ scripture. We quote, sing about and post it on our walls… But what does it really mean when life feels like one long waiting room?

Oxford describes waiting as “staying where one is until a particular time or event”. Another definition says it’s “the occupation of a waiter or waitress”. Which is interesting because waiting in God’s kingdom is an active service.

The truth is, every one of us will face a “waiting” season in our walk with God. It might be waiting for a job, marriage, healing, a child, a promise, or even the next step in your purpose. And yes, it can be stretching. But God never wastes the wait.

Let’s look at Abraham, our classic example of faith. After receiving the promise of a son, he waited twenty-five years before Isaac arrived. Twenty-five years! You might ask, “Why would God promise something and then make him wait so long?”

But when we read Abraham’s story closely, we see purpose in the process. Abraham wasn’t just waiting for a child; he was being built into a father of nations. The waiting shaped him, tested him, and deepened his trust in the God of the promise.

By the time God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, he didn’t flinch. Why? Because years of waiting had taught him that God could be trusted, even when His instructions didn’t make sense.

And yes, the waiting room can be messy. Abraham and Sarah had moments of doubt too; remember Hagar? But even in their mistakes, God’s faithfulness never wavered.

Sometimes, God delays not to deny us but to develop us. To teach us to love Him more than the promise itself. Like He said about Abraham:

“For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord...” — Genesis 18:19

So, dear Lady of Substance, if you find yourself in the waiting room right now, don’t lose heart. Waiting doesn’t mean forgotten. It means God is still writing, and He’s perfecting something in you for the promise ahead.

So , keep believing. , keep serving. , keep trusting. Because faith in the waiting room is what prepares you for the next room. 💜
