A book to help grieving kids...

Psst! "Lulu Faces Loss" is FREE to download Oct. 17-21 on Amazon.
My first experience of loss happened when I was 12 years old. I lost my dad. My brother and sister were 7 and 9. How in the world do you explain something like a sudden major heart attack to a little one?
Unfortunately, we got another chance just a few years later when we watch my grandma pass more slowly from a rare for of Lymphoma. Numb and just trying to survive, my family and I stumbled along for years not really knowing how or when to grieve our losses.
It wasn't until I was 18 that I truly started my grieving process. A big part of my grief journey has been thinking back in order to understand how to help that little 12-year-old me.
Sunday, October 20th marks 21 years since I lost my dad, and I can't believe it's been that long. I haven't written the book about losing him yet - and maybe I never will.
But losing a grandma to cancer is definitely a more common experience for children, and I did write the book I wished I had back then. It's complete with an art activity at the end - something my creative-younger-self would appreciated very much.
Every year on my dad's heaven-versary I run a book sale on Amazon, just to make sure no kid misses out. If you're a caring adult or service worker with a heart for grieving kids, check it out.
The E-Book is FREE to download October 17-21 on Amazon.
