Hey
It’s been a while
Trust you are well and keeping safe
Here in Nigerian it’s election season
For 5 days I have experienced low energy as a result of the heart breaking images and conversations on social media regarding the elections.
This happened because I spent every waking moment keeping abreast with the news.
While it is important to stay informed I overindulged and it has affected my mood and general wellbeing.
I have struggled to exercise and even lost my appetite
How are you doing?
I know this election is such a significant one for Nigerians and this is echoed in the number of people registered to vote.
You might be like me, heavily vested in the elections but dissappointed with how the results are handled.
I was interviewed recently to talk about the mental health of Nigerians and I made a quote
“Your mental health does not respect your location”
Let me say this- no matter what happens always prioritize your wellbeing.
I dragged myself to the tennis court last night.
After three games and lots of laughs in between I did feel better.
The last few weeks have been hard on all of us, from naira scarcity to fuel scarcity and it breaks my heart that we have to deal with so many interferences.
Change has never been easy but the experience from this election turnout makes me believe that change is coming!!!
I am sending you hugs at this time and reminding you to prioritize your wellbeing above all else.
Take care & stay thriving
