Who cares about the money (not me, obviously 🙄)

Feb 19, 2022 11:51 am

When I go for a morning walk, I usually only take my phone with me. But yesterday I needed some milk, so I also put my credit card and mask into my coat pocket.

After the walk, but before heading home, I popped into the store.

When I came to the counter, my credit card wasn't in my pocket.

I thought maybe I'd left it at home (yes, I'm absent-minded, it could have happened).

I felt a bit silly, left the store, and went home to decide what to do.

The card was not there.

I checked the Monobank app on my phone. There was a charge of 53.75 - someone already found my card and paid with it in the same store!

I quickly blocked the card and re-issued a new one.

And a good thing that I did: whoever found my card, tried to use it twice more that day.

The lesson?

I was so focused on the podcast - it was very interesting: informative and funny - that I was careless with important stuff (money).

We are more likely to lose what we don't pay attention to.

If English is important to you, give it as much of your attention now as you can.

Have a great weekend (despite the weather),

Tania.

PS:

I'm "cooking" something for you, to make life with English easier, and make English closer to you on a regular basis. If you're curious, leave your email here and I'll send you more information about how it can help you.
