Valentine... Galentine …

Feb 13, 2022 8:52 am

Do you have a girlfriend?

I mean, a female friend?

If you do, you should know that you have a nice pretext (повод) to meet and have fun today.

While St. Valentine's Day focuses on romantic partners and relationships, Galentine's Day celebrates female friendship, women, and their worth.

Galentine's Day is often celebrated by those who are single, as well as by those who are against the commercialism of Valentine's Day

This holiday has a TV-related origin:

Galentine's Day came from a 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation, in which Leslie Knope invents the day to celebrate female friendship.

The best way to celebrate the day may be to gather together all your gal* pals and have a party with champagne and waffles, just like on Parks and Recreation.

In the meantime, I've almost finished preparing for today's "Love and Pigeons" party which you can still join if you want to celebrate St. Valentine's or Galentine Day.

It's at 4 pm (write me back if you are interested - or sign up here).

See you there 👋

Tania.
