Hi there!

When my sister Lena and her family came over and stayed for the night, they asked for a movie night:

"What movie do you want?" - I asked.

"Anything. We are not picky." - They said.

It was Christmas eve (Orthodox), so I decided that a good old Christmasy romantic comedy is in order.

We streamed it on Sweet.TV - dubbed into Ukrainian, because I'm the only person in my family to understand English (at least, for now - there's some hope for my nephew).

To cut the story short, they both fell asleep during the movie.

I can't even say I blame them.

I mean, yeah, it was bedtime, we all were a bit tipsy, and to tell you the truth, the translation was not half as good as the original. So most of the film wasn't funny or even touching.

It's not only my sense of humor that is very different from the people in my family. I don't tend to discuss movies with them, either.

That's why I feel lucky to be among people who keep me company when we meet to discuss a movie we all have seen.

I also didn't forget about the movie discussion questions.

Some of them are from our movie journal, and some I added after watching the movie. Some questions include interesting vocabulary. I'll probably post the questions (with glossary) in the group this week - keep an eye out.

4. What qualities and skills make Graham's character "the best man to exist" (according to "Cosmopolitan" magazine). Do you agree? Why/Why not?
5. What type of man did each of the female characters initially settle for? Can you think of possible reasons they chose these types of men?
6. How does the film depict emotional manipulation Iris' and Amanda's ex-es used against women, and their effects?
7. Most romantic comedies don't age well. In what ways has the film aged well? In what ways - it hasn't?
8. If you were a writer/producer, what would you change in the film? What would you focus on more? 
9. What movies or books does this film remind you of?
10. What's the most memorable quote?
11. What 3 words or phrases have you learned from the movie or group discussion chat?
