Newsletter Volume 1,  Number 1 January 13, 2023

Welcome Fellow Wayfarers !!

We are remaking our newsletter template to be more in tune with our work. It’s not as complex as our website, but it isn’t meant to be. Our newsletter simply brings you up to date on the latest news, contests, book releases and sneak peeks, happenings and interesting things we’ve come across in the last little bit; along with a smile or two. To start this new newsletter, let’s look at the departments so you, our best friends, loyal readers and fellow wayfarers, know what to expect in the future from us. We hope you will enjoy the letter and visit our website when you have the time. At the end of each newsletter, we give you contact details for our website, FB page and calendar. I will title the sections for the next newsletter, after I get all your comments read and make any sensible changes.

We plan to always start with a small smile to brighten your day; like this one:

It was Palm Sunday but because of a sore throat, 5-year-old Craig stayed home from church with a babysitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm fronds.

Craig inquired as to what they were for.

'People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by,' his father responded.

'Wouldn't you just know it?' Craig complained, 'the one Sunday I don't go and he shows up.'

Next, we will go with some news

In this category, generally what’s going on here at the homestead. Have you ever tried to catch 9 highly upset, 12-week-old chickens in a 6 x 9 aviary full of canaries and button quail without disturbing the canaries or stepping on the button quail? The chickens are late hatches so we’ve kept them in the aviary as it’s too cold to put them out in the hen house. Baby Violet, our CBW, had a great curiosity about chickens. She figured out how to open the aviary door and then tipped the cage. We got the baby out, and re-set the pen, then spent a frantic 30 minutes catching upset chickens who can fly quite well. A good time was not had by all…but everyone is back in their normal places, if a bit roughed up.

 This month, Tbear is compiling all four books in the Clan Falconer series into an omnibus, which is like a box set but a four-in-one volume. You get all four books, newly re-edited and put in a format that you can read through them all, one after the other. It saves you money and time to have them as a box set For instance, buying them one at a time as an e-book costs $2.99-3.99 each. Buying them all in one large e-book we are thinking of pricing around 6.99-a savings to you of at least $5 that you can use to buy other books or buy a giant chocolate bar to nibble while reading of knights, kings, dragons, princesses and evil wizards-great fun!

I’ll be contacting some of my author friends about their latest releases and announcing them in this section, with perhaps a small bio about them. We’ll let you preview covers as well in this section.

Right after this, we announce the latest contest and/or giveaway.

In this case, this week, we’re ordering the cover for the new book for Lent; it’s called The Sage, the Swindler and the Sheep. It comes out on a soft launch end of next week, and we’re having a knock down, isn’t this fun, heavy launch February 7.

We’ve holding a contest next week on our FB page; watch for details over on our FB Traveler Pelton page (https://www.facebook.com/travelerpelton) or the website (https://travelerpelton.com). We’re getting ready for a huge giveaway end of February with a kindle and cover as the grand prize; we’re releasing the first book compilation set, Chronicles of Clan Falconer in March; with a cozy mystery compilation after that. There are twelve books planned for this year.
