Last year, due to the Coronapocalypse, the Balloon Fiesta was canceled--I think for the first time since its inception. This year, it's back in full force!
If you've never been out to Albuquerque in the first couple months of October, you really should some day. It's an experience like no other. Whether you get up in the dark, early hours and fight the herd to get into the grounds itself, or whether you have friends who just happen to have a house with a perfect close-up view of the event, it is simply amazing. I've been here for quite a few and it's no less awe-inspiring now than it was the first time I saw it.
I could ramble on about its beauty, but I know you're all here to hear about books, and I've got some great news on that front!
Unshackled has released!
It’s an unbreakable defense versus an unstoppable assault!
Decades after Bull took control of the long-abandoned facility on the moon of Tambu, it has become a refuge, a weapons manufacturing facility, and a holding point for The Company’s varied assets. It has remained one of The Company’s closest-held secrets.
It is not a secret anymore.
With the fleet overwhelmed, casualties piling higher and higher, and the defenders all but eradicated, the Science Guild believes they have free rein. The Guild is wrong. They didn’t count on Ruxandra Roxtador, a mostly-retired Pushtal spy, a small cadre of living science experiments, a trio of fearless Flatar, and Lucille, the base’s synthetic intelligence.
They will hold the facility at all costs, or die fighting.
Review are flying in and people are loving it! My favorite quote yet-
"You will regret it if you don't get it...but don't plan on sleeping...this the second Casey story that made me forget to sleep...augh..."

Next up, New Mythology Press has officially release their first book, starring yours truly!
Beasts and monsters walk among us!
Changelings, Ogres, Medusae, and other fantastic creatures all have tales to tell, tales that show they’re more than simply horrors in the night or foes worthy of heroes to defeat.
Fifteen of these tales are here in Talons & Talismans I.
A necromancer tries to save a zombie from a broken heart. A medusa searches for someone who sees her and doesn’t have a heart of stone. Werewolves mourn lost families while seeking new ones. And, of course, there are Dragons, including one who must choose between his hoard and a new friend.
Will these monsters remain monstrous, or will they become something more than simply a beast? Come and find out.
My story features a large, hungry spider, who makes her way across a WWI-style landscape. It's Shelob meets Warhorse. Check it out:

For those of you who've just joined who might've missed my last new release-
A Human mercenary unit is trapped and abandoned—betrayed like so many others at the start of the Omega War;
Another mercenary unit is captured and given a choice—fight for its captors or die;
A Hunter and her companion—her former target—follow a path of vengeance; and
Earth’s first Peacemaker becomes aware of the shadow that’s loomed over her shoulder for most of her life.
All of these forces are on a collision path which intersects within the walls of a vast arcology on a faraway planet. The Veetanho masterminds conspire to crush all of the Human forces, with no concern for the destruction they’ll cause, but Bull—like always—has a plan. Sooner or later, though, his luck is going to run out. Will his strategies and tactics once again be enough to carry the day, allowing him to rescue the remaining Humans, or will they all be just more casualties of Veetanho vengeance?
