On the way to FantaSci!

Busy week ahead!

This is where I'm headed on Thursday and I'm so excited! For anyone in the North Carolina area, head on over and check it out! I'll have signed copies of books for sale!

For those who've joined since last year, this is me next to David Weber, the creator of the Honor Harrington series and one of the Mil Sci-Fi greats. I was fortunate enough to be published alongside him in the fantasy anthology Songs of Valor, and this is us on a panel at last year's FantaSci discussing the book.

This year, I'm on tons of panels (one's for the Keen Edge of Valor book release) and I'll Sergeant of Arms at the Four Horsemen Dining Out. So come on down, check out the convention, and say hi!

On my way there, I'll have a somber day attending a dedication ceremony at Moody AFB, GA. They're naming a street on the base for the crew of Komodo 11, an HH-60G Pave Hawk that crashed in Afghanistan on 23 March, 2003. I was honored to receive a personal invitation and, because of FantaSci, it worked out that I could stop through enroute.

Before I get to the new releases and free deals, here's a quick update on projects I'm working on.

The final manuscript for As My Witness, the next Wrogul novel in the Four Horsemen universe, will be submitted this week. I'll give the spoiler that Bull has a part to play, as does a story that reaches back to the Alpha Contracts.

In the JTF-13 universe, I've submitted a short story set in the Mexican-American War, featuring Captain John Greene, the father of Addison Greene from Witch Hunt.

Finally, I'm in the home stretch to finish up a Fallen World novel set on the grounds of my Alma Mater--the US Air Force Academy.

Beyond that, I'm looking to put out a Fallen Empire novel with Cannon Publishing, plus two novels in the Four Horsemen universe- a Bull novel and a Depik Companions novel (my first novel focusing on Okeo and Zatohachi), plus probably another short story or three.

It'll be my biggest writing year yet if I can pull it off. Wish me luck!

Onto the new releases:

First up, from the Hit World Series by Chris Kennedy Publishing--

Werewolves, Demons, and Demi-Gods… Oh, My!

Barely healed from his last adventure, Life Enders, Inc. rookie shooter Luther Sweetwater returns home, only to be offered a job at the barrel of a gun—an offer he literally can’t refuse—and he is off again. The target this time? He needs to find—and eliminate with extreme prejudice—the person or people who have stolen a Memphis police captain’s niece.

With the help of Teri, his partner and potential girlfriend, he begins the hunt, but when the trail leads them south of the border, they quickly determine that it is more than a random kidnapping—an international kidnapping and sex slave ring is involved. Worse, LEI shooters aren’t welcome in Mexico, and the Mexican authorities actively hunt LEI shooters operating within their borders.

As things spiral out of control, Sweetwater goes from being the hunter to the hunted when the leaders of the cartel decide to put an end to his interference… once and for all.

Can Sweetwater and Teri save the women who’ve been stolen by the cartel, or will they meet an untimely end at the hands of the supernatural beings waiting for them?

The Fallen Empire series from Cannon Publishing continues!

An exciting new entry in the universe of the Fallen Empire. started by The Irish Brigade and continued in Overrun!

When the Empire rises, it's glory and fame for the soldier, but when it falls and you're on the long end of a failing supply chain, you have to wonder what all the dying is for. Terran Union Marine Dave Hernandez fights in the last bitter actions of the Succession Wars, living in the mud and blood as incoming fire decimates his squad, the men he called brothers.

After the inevitable drawdown he finds himself as the crewman of a tramp freighter, running between the worlds of the Demilitarized Zone. The DMZ is a place where not a lot of questions are asked and maybe a veteran can find some peace among the stars. Sure, the ship is war surplus, but so is Hernandez. The fact that there's a group of Private Military Contractors protecting the ship means little to him until Illyrian pirates attack and board the vessel, overwhelming the security detail and forcing the Former Marine to bring back old skills that hadn't died as much as he had thought.

With his competence for war noted and his ship wrecked Hernandez signs on with a mercenary company. Far above his head corporate machinations are aiming to make a killing, playing both sides and sacrificing the men with guns for an immense profit, and lives mean nothing compared to money for the ultra rich. Betrayal follows betrayal and the plan descends into bloodshed and mayhem.
