The name changed, but the mission got clearer

Hey there,

Reading time: 2 mins

I'm buzzing this morning—and it's not just the chai latte.

After 20 years in this space, I've made a decision that's been brewing for a while: TalentJet Group Ltd is now trading as HFBAC (Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies).

Same team - me plus a couple of new recruiters joining soon.

Same Chemistry First methodology - I've just never given it a name or systemised it.

But a much clearer mission.

Let me explain why.

The Realisation:

A few months ago, I was at a networking event in London and someone asked me what TalentJet does.

I started explaining:

"Well, we help solo founders find co-founders, and we also help bootstrapped teams hire for growth, and we work with scaling companies on senior leadership, and we use this Chemistry First methodology that—"

They smiled politely and said,

"So... you're a recruiter?"

I went home that night and thought:

If I can't explain it clearly in 10 seconds, how can my clients explain it to someone who needs my help?

That's when I knew the name had to change.

What's Different?

HFBAC stands for Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies—and that's exactly what we do.

Here's what's changing:

Old focus: Generic tech hiring

New focus: Team building at every stage

Old approach: Skills-first recruiting

New approach: Chemistry First methodology

The work you've come to trust? That's staying.

The 25+ years of expertise? Still here.

The obsession with finding people who don't just fit on paper but actually thrive in your culture? That's the foundation of everything we do.

We're just making it clearer who we help and how.

Who HFBAC Serves:

Whether you're:

  • A solo founder looking for your first co-founder or hire
  • A bootstrapped team (5-20 people) hiring for growth
  • A growing company (20-100 people) building your scaling team and leadership

...we've systematised what others leave to "networking and hoping."

Because 70% of startups fail because of people problems, not product problems. And I've spent two decades solving exactly that.

Quick Question for You:

Which stage describes you best right now?

  1. Solo founder (looking for co-founder or first hires)
  2. Bootstrapped team (5-20 people, hiring for growth)
  3. Growing company (20-100 people, building senior leadership)

Just hit reply and let me know. I'd love to understand where you are so I can share resources that are actually relevant to your stage.

(And if you're in "solo founder" mode, I've got something special brewing for you—reply "solo" and I'll give you early access when it's ready.)

The name is new.

The mission is clearer.

But the commitment? That's never changed.

Great companies are built by people with awesome chemistry, not just impressive CVs. And we're here to make that happen—systematically, not by luck.

Happy Hiring!

Helen

P.S. Quick personal note: Many of you know I had major surgery earlier this year (life-saving, all good now). I'm back to work but keeping to part-time hours while I fully recover.

That's actually given me clarity on something important—I'm being ruthlessly strategic about where I spend my energy.

Which brings me back to: hit reply and tell me which stage you're at. I want to make sure the next thing I send you is genuinely helpful for where you are right now.

P.P.S. The brand-new website is launching later this month (hfbac.com). In the meantime, same contact details: helen@hfbac.com and WhatsApp or call on +44(0)7850 355 343 or just reply here.
