As coaches, we are all looking for that edge to make our players better. We want players to have better skills to win more games. If you have ever heard the saying it’s not about the X’s and O’s it's about Jimmy's and Joe’s. Well if your Jimmy’s and Joe’s in this example are more skilled than your opponent’s there is a good chance you will win more games.
So we have had lots of clinics since March and we have some of the best coaches in the world in the skill development department. Below are some of the best in the business for you to learn from:
Phil Handy of the 2020 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Coach Handy is in charge of skill development for the Lakers.
Handy has been to 6 consecutive NBA finals, 4 with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2015–2018), 1 with the Toronto Raptors (2019) and 1 with the Los Angeles Lakers (2020)
In this excerpt from Phil Handys Skill Development from a Player’s Perspective Clinic he discusses his outline he uses when breaking down each skill.
I really like how Phil Handy breaks down in his advanced fundamentals the area of the court where you can attack from. He especially focuses on elbows, high post, mid post and short corner catches.

Cody Toppert - Assistant Coach for the Memphis Tigers
In this segment of Cody Toppert’s Player Development Masterclass Clinic he discusses the four stages of habit building in Skill Development.
In this clip I really like how Cody Toppert explains the 4 stages of habit building and what he strives to accomplish by having all of our players become an unconsciously skilled player.
