4 More ATO’s to add for the end of the season
Feb 23, 2022 7:12 pm
Teams have scouted your team all season - now is the time to add a special.
Here are 4 ATO’s to add to your playbook for the end of the season.
1 - Gonzaga - Horns Flip Pistol
The Horns Flip Pistol is a very good action to get a ball handler downhill very quickly.
The play starts in a Horns alignment.
Then quickly gets into a split action (pistol) with a corner man.
This allows the defense to shift allowing the guard to get downhill.

#2 - Real Madrid - HOF to Spain P/R
The HOF to Spain P/R is an excellent designed set that comes down to a Spain Pick and Roll.
The play starts with fluff to get into the spacing needed for the pick and roll.
The play ends with a Spain pick and roll.
A Spain pick and roll is an action where a ball screen is set but at the same time another man is screening the back of the ball screener’s man.

#3 - Team USA - Elbow to Chicago
Team USA’s elbow to Chicago action is a form of the Princeton offense with split action.
The set starts with a Princeton- like action where you have two guards who are off the ball cutters off an entry to the big.
The big then turns and goes right into a split action.
The action is looking to get the guard downhill while the big is rolling and the corner man is shaking.

4 - Michigan - Pistol PNR
Michigan’s pistol PNR is a very good action to run in transition.
The action is initiated with a handoff right into a ballscreen.
This is a tough action to defend in transition because it happens very quickly.

If you are still playing, there is not a better time to boost up your playbook for the postseason run. If not save for next season.
These 4 sets are specials that can help your team get an edge.
