The COVID19 shut down opened up the world of zoom clinics with hundreds being held both formally and informally. When I am not moderating our clinic sessions, I try to attend as many as I can to continue to build my knowledge and connections with coaches from around the world.

As things remain relatively shutdown, two huge opportunities to learn from the best coaches have opened up.  

Every summer Louisiana and Texas each hold their clinics which many outside of those states do not attend, but this year anyone can attend virtually, which opens up an incredible chance to see coaches who I have not seen during the shutdown as well as hear some coaches again..  

Louisiana High School Coaches Association does an outstanding job with their yearly coaches clinic and this year’s is virtual and open to the entire country as well. Running July 20-23, their line-up is top-notch!

Growing up in Louisiana, I have always been an LSU basketball fan so I am excited to hear both Will Wade and Nikki Fargas speak at this event. I also remember watching Kim Mulkey when she was a star at Louisiana Tech and excited to hear her for the first time.

I am also excited to hear coaches such as Ron Hughey, Erick Konkol, Mark Slessenger, Sean Sweeney and Alex Beene present again. As a Spurs fan, I highly recommend Landry Fields presentation on The Development Square.

There are some coaches whom I have not heard this spring and summer such as Kristy Curry, Ryan Odom, Kayla Ard, Ron Hunter and Mickey DeMoss.

The line-up is packed with successful small college and high school coaches from Louisiana as well 

The Texas High School Coaches Association is the biggest state clinic in the country and draws top names. Their virtual clinic packs that same punch. Some coaches that I am looking forward to hearing for the first time at this clinic are Steve Gomez, Chris Ogden, Jolie Mitchell, and Jason Burton.

This is also the chance to see great State Champion Texas High School Coaches like John Hirst, Trivia Corrales, and Doug Brotherton

These are two-can't miss opportunities to get your summer basketball fix and prepare for the 2020 season. The best part is though they overlap, they are virtual so I can catch everything I want either live or in replay.
