Film, Practice, Scout — Let AI Do the Work This Season
Sep 30, 2025 5:13 pm
Coach ,
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming every industry, and those who are adapting the fastest have a massive competitive advantage over those who don’t embrace the future.
AI is already making major strides in areas such as player tracking and biometrics, automated stats and highlights, performance analysis, and strategic decision making, as well as coaching
How can any coach gain an advantage from AI today?
Here are three AI “plays” from Coach Frank Fogg that you can run this week to save time and sharpen your team. Each one teaches a simple workflow and gives you a copy-paste prompt you can try today in the free version of ChatGPT. No extra costs, no long learning period, no tech background needed.
You don’t need more to do. You need a better way to do what you’re already doing.
Recently discovered Coach Copilot: Your AI Assistant and had to share. Texas High School Coach, Frank Fogg, gives you a smarter, simpler system to help you get organized, save time, and stay sharp all season.
#1 Film: 3-Clip Truth Drill
Use three short clips to teach one theme your team needs right now. Keep it simple so players remember it.
How to run it
• Pick 1 theme you want to teach this week
• Pull 3 clips that show the theme in action
• End with 1 clear rule your team can use in practice
Copy-Paste Prompt to Chatgpt
Here are my notes from the 3 clips for this week. Give me 3 bullet teaching points and 1 rule of thumb for our team. Keep it simple and player-friendly. Here are the clip notes and context: [paste notes or describe actions].
Why it works
Players lock in when the message is short, visual, and repeatable.
#2 Practice: One-Page Plan With Constraints
Turn messy notes into a tight plan with clear standards so practice moves fast and stays competitive.
How to run it
• List your 2 priority skills for today
• Add 2 competitive constraints that force those skills
• Define success with one measurable
Copy-Paste Prompt
Build a one-page practice plan for 75 minutes that teaches [skill 1] and [skill 2]. Include warmup, 2 small-sided games with constraints, 1 guided scrimmage, and clear time blocks. Add coaching cues and 1 measurable for success.
Why it works
Constraints coach the behavior for you. Players feel the standard without long lectures.
#3 Scouting: Two-Minute Focus Sheet
Give your team a simple opponent snapshot they will actually read.
How to run it
• Circle their 2 best actions and 1 matchup priority
• Write the counter you want on each action
• Finish with 3 “If… then…” reminders for players
Copy-Paste Prompt
Turn these opponent notes into a two-minute focus sheet for players. Use: 2 key actions, 1 matchup alert, our counters, and 3 “If… then…” reminders. Keep it to bullets, plain language, and under 150 words. Notes: [paste your scout].
Why it works
Clear beats clever. Players remember what is short and specific.
