Coach ,
Ever wish you had the time to watch all the greatest coaches in basketball and study how they attack and defend every move the opposing coach gives them to perfection?
Thank You Ryan Pannone
One of the biggest names in coaching has done exactly that and he is sharing the best of the best.
Ryan Pannone had everyone buzzing after he spoke at this summer’s Virtual Coaches Clinic on his 3-2 PNR Motion Offense talk.
I was excited to study his deep dive into International Tactics, Concepts, and Trends Masterclass
Here are 3 things that Coach Pannone covered in the course that I thought were interesting.
1.) Attacking heavy nail coverage with movement When watching a Spanish professional game last season I noticed a team would twist their middle ball screen and come back in the direction of the double side like this.
The purpose, according to Coach Pannone, was to put pressure on X3 to help on 1’s drive or stay with 3, since 5’s defender was back.
2.) Emphasis on Rejecting Screens: Coach Pannone stressed that PNR coverages are not designed for failure, so no matter what coverage you are seeing, the threat to reject the screen needs to be your first option.
3.) Jumping into Zone vs. Posts Ups: Coach Pannone showed how Zalgiris, the top professional team in Lithuania, would quickly go zone anytime the ball was thrown into the post. Click the video below for his analysis.
International Tactics, Concepts, and Trends Master Class gives you access to the defensive and offensive ideas and strategies used by international coaches that NBA and college coaches are constantly studying in one package.
Coach Pannone has included some of the top sets and actions from the best coaches in international basketball in this course such as Sergio Scariolo, David Blatt, Aaron Fearne, and Xavi Pascual.
