Coach ,
Coach Ed Schilling is known in the business for being excellent at teaching Player Development. His experience spans over 25 years in College Basketball including being part of teams with NBA Lottery Picks -- and has also coached in a Final Four.
He introduces drills that allow players to work on individual and team skills development while players are in team practice.
His drills allow players to get the same advantage of the skill work as they would get in individual training sessions.
3 Player Development drills that can be done in a Team Setting:
- Perfect Passing
- Circle Shoot
- 21 Skip
#1 Perfect Passing Drill
Perfect Passing drill consists of 5 passing lines. The drill is designed to pass to a player’s right → then sprinting to that line.
Perfect Passing is a drill that allows players to play with speed but having a player focus on hitting a player in the chest with the pass.
The drill is a constant sprint → pass → catch.
The drill is 30 seconds long.

#2 Circle Shoot Drill
The drill starts with a team having two lines under the basket block extended.
The players start with circling each other and passer passes it for a layup. The player gets their own rebound and throws it to the next line. They will then follow into the back of that line.
The first step in the drill is to make 10 layups → then 10 mid-range jumpers → then 10 3’s.
The Circle Shoot Drill is a very good warm-up practice drill. It helps players develop their touch and feel for the ball.
#3 21 Skip Drill
The 21 Skip Drill is a drill designed to improve transition offense and defense.
The drill starts with two players on offense at half court. One of the players has a basketball.
That player skips the ball to the player on the opposite sideline.
The defender is in the paint getting ready to try to stop the 2 on 1.
The player that shoots the basketball in the drill then becomes the defender.
This course consists of 11 Team Drills that build off developing fundamentals for players.
If you’re looking for ways to build habits during a team practice → this clinic will give the steps.
