How to Coach your Players to dominate Finishing at the Rim 🗑️

In today’s offenses, you need players that can finish at the rim, make floaters in the lane. I see it all the time with Drive and Space, Positionless Offenses, and the Dribble Drive Motion Offense players driving and grinding. Getting into the paint but then throwing up an off-balance shot and making terrible reads in the paint.
Does this sound familiar to you?
If you want a deep dive in finishing it doesn't get much better than Coach Doug Novak.
In the first clip below Coach Novak goes over the Point of Attack that split-second decision you need to make as a player to make those decisions to play off two feet, one foot, finish with inside hand or outside in the paint.
Here in this second clip, Coach Novak breaks down the euro-step finish explaining how they “arc the ball” across their eyebrows.
Finally, Coach Novak in this clip teaches a shimmy hook for a post-finish or you can use in a Barkley situation (dribble post up.)
If you want to learn more, he breaks down 17 finishes and 11 post moves and breaks down each one of these skills in a very easy way, so you can teach your players them with his “Finishing School Breakdown Drills”
Doug Novak’s goal: is to build a bulletproof foundation for why they do what they do. The Point of Attack course will show how he creates the habits that hold up under pressure.
