Some NEW things are germinating in my coaching this Spring and I'm so excited to share them with you over the next several weeks.

What's new with you? I hope you are singing a-plenty.

Here are 3 fun ways to make your Spring more musical:

See a Musical! It's Springtime and if you love Musical Theatre, then you know that this is PEAK musical season.

My local student singers are in musical rehearsals right now for "Head Over Heals" at Berkeley Playhouse, and "Chicago" at Bishop O'Dowd and I can't wait to cheer them on when they perform.

I'm also going to NYC this Spring break with my family, my sons have never been before, and we'll see the musical, Come From Away, ON BROADWAY! We'll also see some of my studio singer graduates and musician friends who are studying and performing in New York, YAY!

We can support our performers, near and far, by going to see their shows again!

Listen to the birds! Our local birds are serenading us constantly these early spring days.

The phoebes have built a nest above our drain pipe and they call and respond to each other all day. The clever crows collect twigs outside and swoop down on eachother, battling for their "bird turf".

Did you know that many songbirds have two sets of vocal cords, called the syrinx, which allows them to sing multiple notes at once? I wish I could do that!

Sing a new song that CHALLENGES you:

What is a song that you want to sing but makes you feel intimidated? Now is the time to spread your wings and try on some NEW SONG MATERIAL to stretch your abilities. My private singers are choosing new, challenging songs for our Spring Sing Showcase.

I'll never forget how intimidated I was to learn how to sing, "Ave Maria" for a very formal wedding ceremony, or "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor, for a wild and fancy private event. Each new song challenge made me a stronger vocalist.

My current song challenge is to sing, To Build a Home, by The Cinematic Orchestra, a simply breathtaking song that you can listen to it HERE
