How to feel calmer when speaking online

Hello ,

If you are like many of us, speaking online in meetings and webinars can feel overwhelming.

We have our speaking notes, nerves, and all of the technical stuff to think about. It's a lot.

Today, I want to equip you with my online checklist for public speakers so you can set it and forget it when you log in.

Being fully ready online makes a big difference in how confident and prepared you feel, and that confidence is communicated to your audience.

My best advice is to give yourself enough time to review your online materials and notes. The more complicated the setup, the more time you need. I give myself 30 minutes for my international speaking workshops. My team and I go over the tech, and I have someone else manage the slide deck and chat.

When I'm navigating the tech on my own, I run through this checklist to ensure I've covered my bases.

I want to show up as my present, available self, not preoccupied with a tech issue like why my mic won't unmute. Setting up in advance is a gift to yourself and your viewers, even if it's just for a few minutes.

How do you usually set up for your online meetings or presentations? Did I miss something that you like to do in addition to this checklist? Please let me know so we can grow stronger together.

Stay Calm & Speak On,

Jessica
