Bonjour ,
I need to apologise.
I'm on holiday this week.
Usually, I plan ahead and write something for you that I can send while I'm away.
This time I didn't plan so well. There were so many things that I needed to do that I forgot this one. Clearly I should have made a list (on paper!).
So here I am with what might be the last few minutes of free time today (Tuesday).
I am writing from France (that's why I started with 'bonjour'), from the beautiful guest house I stayed in last night. This is my next stage of Jakobsweg, Metz to Vaucouleurs.
Yesterday I was very surprised. A lady was ahead of me. I caught up with her and when I was going passed, she spoke. She could speak English, so we walked together and chatted. I used my few words of French and she corrected how I was saying the names of the towns I'd be staying in (thank you!).
She was walking to meet a friend (she wasn't a pilgrim on the path to Santiago de Compostela), which was good for me, because she was going to a shopping centre that I wanted to eat lunch at. As we were walking in trees by a canal, I don't know if I would have taken the right exit if she hadn't been there.
Sorry this is a bit shorter, but I need to start walking.
Things will be back to normal next week!
See you,
Andrea
