Greetings ,
Today I'm talking about the weather again. It's been a while, so I hope I'm allowed (?).
What do you think of when someone asks you about autumn weather?
I think of cooler days that are cloudy and maybe a bit foggy - the kind of days we had last week. The fog was high, covering the tops of the skyscrapers. One day the fog lifted and the sun shone for a while. That was lovely while it lasted, however it was grey the next day.
Sunday, however, was beautiful. The sun shone brightly out of a clear, blue sky. It highlighted the reds, yellow, and browns of the autumn leaves.
It was chilly to start with. But even early in the morning, the sunshine was warm.
I should have enjoyed the sun and the colours by going for a long walk. It would have been lovely on the paths by the river. Or walking through fields.
However, I didn't go any further than the bakery.
Let me say that again. No, I didn't spend hours there, sitting at a table. I bought some bread and left again.
But it was probably silly not to be out for a bit longer on such a perfect day. There might not be many more days like it for the next few months.
Having said that, it was also lovely being at home and looking out at the beautiful weather. The sunshine warmed my flat enough for me to have the door onto the balcony open for a while. The warmth and sunlight also made it a good day for working on projects inside.
First, I finished something I started several months ago. Then I knitted a bit more of the jacket for my youngest niece.
Not that it needs to be autumn for me to knit or work on a craft project. That can happen at any time of year!
Looking back, maybe I could have used the sunshine better, but I still had a great day.
What did you do on Sunday? Did you go outside to enjoy the day, or did you spend it inside?
Have a fantastic week,
Andrea
